This website is dedicated to the families who lost their lives on the SS Adela in 1917 and other families and ships of the time.
The site will grow richer in its stories as families add memories and submit photos.
The website has been gifted to The Adela-Hare Centenary Commemoration Committee by Tedcastles which was bought from Robert Tedcastle in 1951 by John Reihill Sr and remains as a family business.
Thanks to the management team of Tedcastles and the Reihill family, the lives of those lost – the crew of SS Adela and other ships – and their families will never be forgotten. Tedcastle McCormick was re-branded in 1995 to TOP (Tedcastles Oil Products).
